Passion for Coats this Fall

A straight coat with a V-shaped collar, like a classic men’s jacket, and coats cut with a sleek, sculptural proportions and well-defined waist will be very popular this Fall. The latter appeared in the collections of Jil Sander, Clements Ribeiro and others. The color is kind of unusual for the Fall season which is milky-white. It seems that along with the global warming designers are more attracted to the more gentle “warm” tones in outerwear, namely, to beige and light gray.

This fall, these two colors were not able to take out the almighty black. Stella McCartney requested the ash-gray coat with a stand-up collar and concealed buttons, Dries van Noten – light beige coat with a belt, Rochas – an elongated coat-jacket body color. Roland Mouret has kept the classical form of the Fall coat: clean lines, an asymmetrical neckline and a perfect length just below the knee – nothing superfluous. If severe, this elegant style is ideal for a conservative office dress-code, and for an evening out you can afford something more daring, such as a luxurious design in the “Carrie Bradshaw” style, a charming Jason Wu coat, decorated with ostrich feather trim.
