Winter is here. This is the season when are immune system is not that strong and are inclined to get sick more often. We also do not have enough energy, because the weather is not that sunny as in summer and the rainy and snowy days make us sleepy. Here are a few products that come to the rescue during these cold and nasty times.
BLACK TEA
Should someone talk about tea, all immediately agree: “Oh, yes, green tea is a useful thing!” But black tea benefits our health as well. Boston University researchers found out that people who drank two to three cups of black tea a day for one month 50% of their blood vessels were improved, the walls become more elastic, blood flow and the degree of blood oxygen saturation was improved as well.
Hot tea for breakfast or cold – for dinner. The important part is that tea has to be made not from the tea bags which is not as good for the body. Drink freshly brewed black tea only, and make sure you drink it right away because if it is left even for a couple of hours on the desk or in the fridge, it loses its useful properties.
Celery contains no fat, no calories, but its benefits don’t just stop there. Firstly, it has a lot of potassium, which neutralizes the excess salt and helps to avoid edema. Doctors say that most people receive half of the recommended potassium daily, whereas only 100 g celery completely fill this need. Secondly, celery normalizes blood pressure.
Fresh Celery goes well with meat, fish, potatoes, fresh salads and sandwiches.
CHERRY
Cherry is much more than decoration for a cocktail or a filling for a pie. Cherries contain high levels of flavonoids that do wonders with the immune system, blocking the free radicals that accelerate the aging of cells. In addition, Cherry has a mild laxative effect, improves skin condition and stabilizes the heart functioning
MUSHROOMS
Mushrooms are very important ingredients that have a lot od vitamins of group B, including riboflavin, which is indispensable for the beauty of the skin and hair, and also improves vision. In addition, Mushrooms lower cholesterol and prevent heart disease.
“Mushrooms, like a sponge, absorbing the harmful substances from the soil, and therefore safer to choose farmed mushrooms and oyster mushrooms” – advises dietitian, K. M. Mr. Yekaterina Aleksandrova. Fresh mushrooms could be added to salads and sandwiches, or fried with onions.
Calcium and iron in the beans protect bones and strengthen the heart muscle. Vegetable protein that is in beans is absorbed much better than the animal’s protein. To prepare beans leave the in the water for a night and then in the morning change water and cook on low heat for about two hours. When it is almost ready add carrots, tomatoes and garlic mixed with vegetables. Beans are absorbed better than with meat, chicken or fish.
