“This is a waste of time – I thought after the first yoga class ten years ago. – So slow, painful and boring. I can exhaust myself during aerobic workouts good enough.
Thank God that I did not drop out after the first class, and now yoga – is the love of my life and the beginning of each day.
So my first advice: if you want to join yoga, don’t give up for at least a few sessions in a row, so you have a chance to feel and appreciate yoga.
After a few classes you will feel like changing for the better, your body becomes more flexible, obedient. Features of your body will unfold gradually, over time you will be able to do what only recently seemed unthinkable – for example, stand on your head.
But yoga – is not a competition, do not look at what others do best, or cannot do at all. Everything will come to you automatically with time. Find a yoga school in the neighborhood next to your home or work and start to engage there. If there is no such school nearby then, buy a DVD with a special beginners course. This is also a good start. If you are going to go to a fitness club, make sure the instructor has a certificate. Yoga is so popular that its classes are held in all clubs, but not every fitness instructor can teach yoga. Yoga can be for people of any age, with any body type and level of training. Yoga should be practiced barefoot, it provides a closer contact with the soil.
When I’m in class, I concentrate on the technique and my own feelings so much that I can not think of anything else, all the problems go away. Once you truly understand what is Yoga, gain the ease of performing asanas, you will make yourself the best gift!
