Nail Trend for Summer 2010: From Brightest to Darkest Colors

Face it, nails are important and an important part of keeping up with fashion trends. After a long winter of dark nails, finally summer is on its way and so are the bright colors, mattes and high glosses.

As a girl who gets a manicure every few weeks, I love looking at the new OPI and Essi colors that come in. Frankly, this summer there is a mix of everything from neon yellow to glitter galore. Nail color is a personal choice for everyone. Some people like the natural look while others take a step outside the box and go for a trendier look. I fall somewhere in the middle, it truly depends on my mood at that time of the manicure.

The popular darks have lightened up with grays and light browns, the mattes are still very popular as well as the high shines. Salons in major cities have been creating wild looks with leopard prints and “bedazzling” the nail with diamonds and multi colors.

Anything goes for the toes; I would say the more attention getting the better! Bright neon colors standout with flip flops and open toe pumps. Since it’s easy to hide our toes in the office you can really do whatever you would like.

From personal experience, having crazy nails in the office can be a bit distracting, it can stir up some strange looks or generate some interesting conversation! I do not mind (nor does my boss) it’s fun, unique and can complete any outfit!
