High-profiled attorney, Shaw Chapman Holley, resigned as Lindsay Lohan’s lawyer. Working with the troubled starlet since May 2007, Holley expressed outrage at her client’s 90 day jail sentence – rendered by Judge Marsha Revel. The Judge determined Lohan violated her probation on a 2007 drug and drunk driving case by missing seven alcohol education classes since December, when ordered her to attend weekly sessions.
Speculations surfacing about Holley’s resignation ranged from rumors of Lohan secretly searching for a replacement attorney to Holley’s frustrations over Lohan’s blatant disrespect in court. A new attorney has not been named.
Known for tackling the legal problems of troubled high profiled celebrities, Holley’s humble origins started at University of California, Los Angeles and Southwestern University School of Law. She jump-started her legal career as a Los Angeles Public Defender. She was known for handling cases that included rape and murder. Later, the famed African-America lawyer, Johnnie Cochran, hired her as Managing Partner of The Cochran Firm. Months after joining The Cochran Firm – O.J. Simpson hired the firm and Holley was on the case for the next year and a half. Working as a member of the legal ‘dream team’- this experience catapulted Holley into the celebrity arena – leading her to amass a client list to include: Nicole Richie, Paris Hilton, Chris Brown, the Kardashian sisters, Shemar Moore, and “CSI” star, Gary Dourdan, in their highly-publicized court cases. Additional clients have included accused Symbionese Liberation Army bomber Sara Jane Olson, Black Panther leader Geronimo Pratt, entertainers Michael Jackson, Tupac Shakur, Snoop Dogg, The Game, Axl Rose, Jesse McCartney and athletes Mike Tyson, “Sugar” Ray Leonard and Reggie Bush.
Presently Holley works for Kinsella, Weitzman, Iser, Kump and Aldisert LLP in Santa Monica, California. She is married to Dorian Holley, a prominent and well-known singer who is an Associate Music Director and Vocal Coach on American Idol. The couple have three daughters.
