CINNAMON AND OAT CLUSTERS ADDED TO RAISIN BRAN

The Beacon News – Aurora (IL) September 27, 2000 Inspired by the fresh-baked taste of cinnamon swirl raisin bread, Post Cinna-Cluster Raisin Bran a wholesome raisin bran cereal bursting with great-tasting cinnamon-sprinkled raisins and crunchy clusters baked with cinnamon. Post Cinna-Cluster Raisin Ban is low fat and high in fiber. Suggested retail price is $3.29. site cinnamon toast crunch

The conclusion: You’re just going to have to try this one because the cereal is appealing or repellent without particular reason.

George Ziegler of Aurora, father of one I’m not too much of a cereal eater, except on occasion for a little change. When I do eat it, I try to buy healthy cereal, but I prefer Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

This has more vitamins and minerals than Cinnamon Toast Crunch, but I didn’t think it was very clustery as the enlarged picture on the box shows.

Nor did it “grab me by the nose” as the box also says.

My inner child had a tantrum trying this and though my cereal has a bit more fat, it sure tastes a lot better.

This was like trading in my Mustang for a Rambler.

Healthier? Yes, but to me this bran doesn’t jam.

David Chrestenson of Oswego, husband and cooking enthusiast It’s really hard to imagine that there is a market for all of the cereals on the shelves.

Unless you really like cinnamon, this one certainly has few distinguishing characteristics from many of the others. go to site cinnamon toast crunch

It consists mainly of bran flakes, only slightly crispy, with some sparsely scattered oat clusters, and a reasonable amount of raisins, the entire thing permeated with the flavor of cinnamon.

In its favor, it’s not really sweet, yet I didn’t feel the need to add more than a little milk.

But every bite tasted of cinnamon, and little else.

While this isn’t necessarily bad, it’s not what I would look for in a breakfast cereal.

This is a take-it-or- leave-it cereal, I’ll leave it.

Kim Bachman of Sandwich, mother of one and supervisor of a preschool center Oh, boy.

Just what we need — another mutation of a breakfast classic.

The picture on the box promises bran flakes, raisins and oat clusters with a cinnamon flavor like cinnamon raisin bread.

There were raisins and bran flakes.

The cinnamon flavor was there, but could have been a bit stronger. I don’t recall seeing any oat clusters in my bowl.

They may have settled to the bottom of the box.

Maybe the raisins were there too because there weren’t many of those in the bowl either.

All things considered, I won’t buy it again.

Grace Dahlberg of Sandwich, grandmother of 16 and antiques appraiser We’re apt to stand by our old favorites in cereal — the ones we liked as children, or that our children grew up with: puffed wheat, corn flakes, shredded wheat, etc.

That was before highly touted additives such as sugar, frosting, nuts, raisins, chocolate and fluorescent colors on packages beckoned enticingly from the store shelves.

This one really stands out, with its brilliant orange and purple box.

We tried it and, like Mikey on television, we like it! The bran is fresh and crunchy (the package tells us that crunching the cinnamon oat clusters will soon be allowable breakfast table etiquette.) The raisins are soft and plentiful, and the cinnamon flavor is strong.

Fat content is low, the sodium and sugar are not bad and the price is lower than some of these cereal types.

The box contains well over a pound; this is not skimpy like some.

We’ll try it again, as a tasty change from old favorites.
