Byline: Harold G. Downs Daily Herald Staff Writer A 45-year-old Elk Grove Village man was ticketed for failing to yield after a two-vehicle traffic crash Monday morning in Palatine left a 28-year-old Crystal Lake woman seriously injured, police said.

Michael J. Koran, of 423 Bianco Drive, was driving a Ryder rental truck when he tried to turn left from westbound Dundee Road onto southbound Hicks Road, police said. He collided with a 2002 Honda Civic traveling east on Dundee.

The driver of the Honda, Phuong Thi Hue Van, remained in fair condition Tuesday at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge after she was airlifted there for her injuries. Her 2-year- old son, Khanh Van Dang, also of Crystal Lake, and Koran were taken to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, where Koran was released Monday and the boy was released Tuesday. go to site 2002 honda civic

Everyone involved was wearing seat belts, police said.

The incident remained under investigation as police hoped to talk to Hue Van once it was possible.

Koran was given a Sept. 25 court date, police said.
