Victoria Beckham, a British Style icon, a mother, a wife, a singer and a fashion designer are just some of the things that she is so good at. She’s surely got the dream life.
Growing up, Victoria was embarrassed by her family’s wealth and didn’t feel comfortable when her father dropped her off at the school in Rolls Royce. Today, she has the dream job, the nicest cars, homes, vacations, fashion items, the most expensive jewellery, and not forgetting her football heartthrob and style icon husband David Beckham. She is a perfect example of being able to take on so many roles and be good at each and every one of them.
Beckham has earned her rightful spot on the fashion platform as a coveted designer, with her label Victoria, Victoria Beckham having showcased its ninth successful season at New York Fashion Week. She has been nominated numerous times at the British Fashion Awards alongside industry giants such as Mulberry and Burberry, and took home the gong for Brand of the Year, in 2011.
These days, the 38-year-old style icon has a more natural approach to her “posh” upbringing. With a personal attitude towards fashion, she feels the need to be more natural with her style. And after removing her breast implants, “for the first time, I feel like what you see is what you get,” says Beckham. “This is me: the more natural hair, the slightly more relaxed way of dressing. I feel really content personally and professionally.”
Victoria Beckham, Donatella Versace and Diane von Furstenberg are the new judges of the 2012 International Woolmark Prize. Alongside Vogue Italia editor Franca Sozzani and Tim Blanks, the trio will help name the world’s best Merino wool designer on February 16 2013 as part of London Fashion Week.
